The Charity, which will be known as Silver, offers recreational and educational events to the over 55s in Surrey with the aim of bringing people together – to have fun, learn new things and share stories. Silver wants to bring a sense of community by doing crafts, listening to interesting speakers, learning about such things as FaceBook and FaceTime, and much much more.
The first event in Molesey will celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday with a Tea Party and Molesey Local History Society will be giving a talk on local history. There will also be a craft activity making commemorative coasters celebrating the Queens Birthday, so that everyone will have something to take home.
All Silver get-togethers will start at 10am and finish at 12 noon, and future events will be held every third Thursday of the month.
A nominal charge of £2 will be payable.
